Regulatory expertise

We make it our mission to stay ahead of the changing regulatory landscape and keep up to date with emerging issues that potentially impact our customers.

Local, national and global challenges

Our regulatory specialists and technical experts have their eyes firmly fixed on the future. We’re working together to ensure that we’re proactively preparing for potential changes rather than reacting to them, whether that is in line with Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), or compliant with regulation from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), or Health Canada, as well as state level regulations and emerging standards in other countries.

Our priority is making sure that our customers are compliant wherever they are, and wherever their customers are in the world.

Avoiding unintended consequences

As regulatory bodies tighten limits on bisphenol A (BPA) in food and beverage packaging, our intention is to move away from all materials of concern. We believe that all bisphenols – not just BPA – will eventually be in scope of future legislation. Pre-empting this shift is the main driver of our new product development work, and why we’re focusing on solutions that can be BPX non-intent, and in some cases also styrene free, to help future-proof our customers and minimize future challenges.

Our aim is to create a suite of new generation coatings that can be used on the entire can – on the body and the ends, and on the inside and the outside – which meet and even exceed local, national and international regulatory requirements from the EU and FDA, and any other regulatory body.
