AkzoNobel’s overprint varnishes have industry leading performance: delivering all key over print varnish metrics including excellent scratch hardness and abrasion performance as well as superb can mobility through can/filling lines. Among other features are good flow and levelling on can surfaces, excellent pasteurization performance including rebake performance and excellent abrasion performance, exceeding the toughest global standards.

 

Accelstyle™ 100


Accelstyle™ 100, is a waterborne Gloss overprint varnish (OPV) designed specifically for two-piece aluminum beer and beverage cans. This innovative coating is free from Bisphenol, Styrene and PFAS aligning with the highest quality and safety standards.

Accelstyle™ 100 matches the performance of AkzoNobel’s standard polyester OPV, offering excellent can line mobility, pasteurization performance, and resistance to necker tooling line pick-up. It has undergone successful large-scale trials and qualifications with major European can makers, boasting high abrasion resistance for conventional two-piece aluminum beer and beverage cans. Importantly, it seamlessly integrates into existing production processes, enabling a transition to coatings that are both environmentally friendly and commercially viable.

 

Accelstyle™ 200


Accelstyle™ 200, a waterborne Matt Over Print Varnish (OVP) designed to provide can makers and brand owners with exterior coatings for traditional two-piece aluminum beer and beverage cans. Accelstyle 200 is free from Bisphenol, Styrene and PFAS, making it a responsible choice for can coatings.

Accelstyle™ 200 features exceptional coating mobility, comparable to conventional gloss OPVs, while remaining PFAS and Styrene free. Notably, Accelstyle 200 exhibits high abrasion resistance, making it an ideal choice for conventional two-piece aluminum beer and beverage cans. It seamlessly integrates into existing production processes, enabling can makers to transition to coatings free from concerning materials, all while maintaining commercial viability.
